“Witchy, dark, confident, brash.” - Description of ‘Cassidy’, by the client.

Cassidy is the epitome of dark, feminine energy. I have been commissioned to bring her to life a few times, and every piece has been witchy and darkly divine. She’s a badass, femme fatale gunslinger, and I wanted to capture that energy with her design here. Working with colour schemes that are mostly monochromatic can be difficult, especially when its black. In pieces like this, however, there is no ‘true’ black used. All the ‘black’ tones used are blue tones, or blue based black. When using true black, you lose the ability to add a lot of depth to a piece. I added a darker gradient background to this piece too, which helps the blue look more black.
